going under cover (and other rubbish titles)
well now.
i know it's not been long since the last one, but i woke up this morning thinking about cover versions.
and so, after hoovering and general house-work, i made up a list.
then i made that list into a compilation.
so here we are - xPQwRtz number 3 - cover versions.
19 tracks in all and a printable cover again.
as usual i may well have missed out something important.
i may even have done something that's been done before - i don't really do much blog reading, web surfing etc so i don't know what's going on out there.

I wasn't aware (or maybe I've just forgotten) 'Rosemary' was a cover... who? And who else does 'What A Way To Die'? (the credits on the Shoppies LP just say unknown). I loved their version of 'Train From Kansas City'; there was an ace alternate take of that on a Sounds freebie EP I recall. And it was great how the the Soup Dragons did a cover version of Red Crayola's 4 second 'Listen To This' for their covers Peel session :-)
Great comp!

"rosemary" is a dickie's song (mind you it's currently 6am and i've not had my coffee yet, so if yi'm wrong i'll update you later).
"what a way to die" is like a standard blues type thing that loads of people have done throughout the years.
you know, like everyone does "louie luoie" or something.
that soup dragons cover of "listen to this" is very funny. sarandon considered covering it when we recorded our session just because we'd then be covering soup dragons covering red crayola.

Been after Bogshed's 'Mushrooms' since I had the internet.
If anyone has downloaded this, before the links died, can you put me out of my misery and send this track to d(at)homeinvaders(dot)co(dot)uk
- it really would make an old man very happy!
